<p>The article examines the possibilities of using computer vision technologies and human posture analysis to detect situations associated with an increased risk of security violations in institutions of the penal system of the Russian Federation at an early stage. It is substantiated that automated identification of key body points, assessment of the relative positions of the head, torso, arms, and legs, analysis of joint angles, gaze direction, distance between faces, and the speed and sharpness of movements can be used to generate indicative signals about a potentially dangerous situation. Such situations include a conflict-driven approach, preparation for a physical confrontation, a sudden change in trajectory, an attempt to overcome an engineered barrier, being in an atypical posture, a fall, prolonged immobility, or group interaction requiring the officer’s attention. It has been shown that an automatic posture analysis system based on artificial intelligence is not capable of reliably determining a person’s intent or predicting a specific violation; its results should be of an indicative nature and used only to direct the officer to conduct an additional check. Special attention is paid to the legal restrictions on the processing of video data and biometric personal data, the need to validate models within the specific institutional context, information protection, the prohibition of automated decision-making that has legally significant consequences without human involvement, and ensuring the possibility of verifying an adverse conclusion.</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>analysis of human posture</kwd><kwd>prediction of security threats</kwd><kwd>penal institutions</kwd><kwd>computer vision</kwd><kwd>video analytics</kwd><kwd>machine learning</kwd><kwd>action recognition</kwd><kwd>biometric personal data</kwd><kwd>legal restrictions</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>анализ позы человека</kwd><kwd>прогнозирование угроз безопасности</kwd><kwd>учреждения УИС</kwd><kwd>компьютерное зрение</kwd><kwd>видеоаналитика</kwd><kwd>машинное обучение</kwd><kwd>распознавание действий</kwd><kwd>биометрические персональные данные</kwd><kwd>правовые ограничения</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><ref id="ref1"><mixed-citation publication-type="other" xml:lang="ru">[1] Денисенко О. А. 2024, № 4.
