<p>The article discusses the features of the use of smart contracts in cross-border trade of the countries of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU) in the context of the digital transformation of foreign economic activity. The legal nature of smart contracts, the mechanism of their functioning based on distributed registry technology, as well as the advantages and risks of application in international trade are analyzed. Particular attention is paid to the state of legal regulation of smart contracts in the national legislation of the EAEU member states, including the Federal Law “On Digital Financial Assets” in Russia and Decree No. 8 “On the Development of the Digital Economy” in Belarus. Legal conflicts and regulatory gaps associated with the lack of a single supranational approach and unified standards have been identified. The practical aspects of the implementation of smart contracts in the management of logistics chains, customs declarations and financial settlements between trade participants are considered. An assessment of the economic effect of introducing the technology is presented, according to which the reduction in transaction costs can reach 14-37% depending on the sector. The need to harmonize the legislation of the EAEU countries, develop standard forms of smart contracts and create dispute resolution mechanisms adapted to the specifics of blockchain technologies is substantiated, which will ensure the sustainable development of digital trade in the integration association.</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>smart contracts</kwd><kwd>blockchain</kwd><kwd>cross-border trade</kwd><kwd>Eurasian Economic Union</kwd><kwd>distributed registry</kwd><kwd>electronic document management</kwd><kwd>customs declaration</kwd><kwd>asset tokenization</kwd><kwd>supply chains</kwd><kwd>digital financial assets</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>смарт-контракты</kwd><kwd>блокчейн</kwd><kwd>трансграничная торговля</kwd><kwd>Евразийский экономический союз</kwd><kwd>распределённый реестр</kwd><kwd>электронный документооборот</kwd><kwd>таможенное декларирование</kwd><kwd>токенизация активов</kwd><kwd>логистические цепочки</kwd><kwd>цифровые финансовые активы</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><ref id="ref1"><mixed-citation publication-type="other" xml:lang="ru">Джусупов А. М.
