В статье рассматривается проблема влияния тюремного заключения на психическое здоровье заключенных в зарубежной пенитенциарной системе. Приводятся данные о низких показателях выявления и лечения психических расстройств заключенных. Указывается на более высокую распространённость психических расстройств в среде заключённых в зарубежных тюрьмах по сравнению с общей популяцией. Анализируются основные факторы, провоцирующие ухудшение психического здоровья заключенных. Авторы приходят к выводу о необходимости комплексного подхода к предотвращению ухудшения психического здоровья заключенных, который должен включать целевые стратегии, основанные на межведомственном сотрудничестве между службами психического здоровья, социальной помощи и уголовного правосудия

The article examines the impact of imprisonment on the mental health of prisoners in foreign penitentiary systems. Data on lowrates of detection and treatment of mental disorders among prisoners are presented. A higher prevalence of mental disorders among prisoners in foreign penitentiary systems is indicated, compared to the general population. The main factors contributing to the deterioration of prisoners’ mental health are analyzed. The authors conclude that a comprehensive approach to preventing the deterioration of prisoners’ mental health is necessary, which should include targeted strategies based on interagency collaboration between mental health and social services, and criminal justice
