<p>This article examines one of the most pressing and complex problems in modern psychological science: the systematic infiltration of pseudoscientific and methodologically invalidated techniques into academic discourse, dissertation research, and the practical activities of specialists in various fields, including law. Special attention is given to the mechanisms of legitimizing concepts such asgraphology and the interpretation of non-verbal behavior in the context of applied profiling activities. The study covers the historical and methodological aspects of the problem, from ancient physiognomy to 19th-century phrenology, revealing the evolution of pseudoscientific approaches in psychology. The work provides a detailed analysis of the substitution of concepts between operation alprofiling, as a scientifically grounded technology for predicting behavior, and subjective theories of characterology. The methodological framework of the analysis includes the principles of Karl Pop per’s falsificationism.</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>методологический кризис</kwd><kwd>валидность</kwd><kwd>профайлинг</kwd><kwd>характероло гия</kwd><kwd>псевдонаука</kwd><kwd>демаркация</kwd><kwd>графология</kwd><kwd>невербальная коммуникация</kwd><kwd>психометрика</kwd><kwd>фальсификационизм</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>methodological crisis</kwd><kwd>validity</kwd><kwd>profiling</kwd><kwd>characterology</kwd><kwd>pseudosci ence</kwd><kwd>demarcation</kwd><kwd>graphology</kwd><kwd>non-verbal communication</kwd><kwd>psychometrics</kwd><kwd>falsificationism</kwd><kwd>the study provides a comprehensive analysis of the issue</kwd><kwd>combining historical</kwd><kwd>methodological</kwd><kwd>and ethical approaches</kwd><kwd>validity</kwd><kwd>profiling</kwd><kwd>characterology</kwd><kwd>pseudoscience</kwd><kwd>demarca tion</kwd><kwd>graphology</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><ref id="ref1"><mixed-citation publication-type="other" xml:lang="ru">Аристотель.
