<p>The article provides a theoretical analysis of “metacognitive strategies” as a central element of the regulatory component of metacognition. The evolution of ideas is traced from the classical works of J. Flavell and A. Brown to contemporary Russian and international models. A comparative analysis of conceptual approaches is conducted, highlighting common and specific features of various classifications of strategies. The main types of metacognitive strategies – planning, monitoring, evaluation, and regulation – are systematized, and their role in managing cognitive activity is demonstrated. Special attention is paid to the application of metacognitive strategies in professional teaching. An integrative definition of metacognitive strategies as second-order cognitions responsible for deliberate control and optimization of cognitive processes is formulated. The article contributes to the conceptualization of the metacognitive domain and provides a theoretical framework for empirical research on the regulation of professional thinking.</p>
<kwd-group xml:lang="en"><kwd>метапознание</kwd><kwd>метакогнитивные стратегии</kwd><kwd>метакогнитивная регуляция</kwd><kwd>планирование</kwd><kwd>мониторинг</kwd><kwd>оценка</kwd><kwd>произвольный интеллектуальный контроль</kwd><kwd>педагогическая деятельность</kwd></kwd-group><kwd-group xml:lang="ru"><kwd>metacognition</kwd><kwd>metacognitive strategies</kwd><kwd>metacognitive regulation</kwd><kwd>planning</kwd><kwd>monitoring</kwd><kwd>evaluation</kwd><kwd>deliberate intellectual control</kwd><kwd>teaching activity</kwd></kwd-group></article-meta></front><back><ref-list><ref id="ref1"><mixed-citation publication-type="other" xml:lang="ru">Flavell, J.
