В статье в аналитическом ключе рассматриваются процесс становле ния и последующее развитие сравнительной криминологии как самостоятельного направ ления научного знания, формировавшегося в рамках криминологической традиции на протяжении более чемстолетнего периода. Подчеркивается, что формирование сравнитель нойкриминологии сопровождалось сложными научными дискуссиями, связанными с транс формацией эпистемологических подходов, сменой теоретических ориентиров и соотно шением клинического, этиологического и социологического направления криминологиче ских исследований. Обобщение международного опыта позволяет выявить как историче ские предпосылки складывания сравнительного подхода, так и его значение для анализа преступности и социальной реакции в обществах, принадлежащих к различным социаль но-культурным и политическим системам. Особое внимание уделено методологическим основаниям сравнительных исследований, включая различение макрои микрокриминологи ческих стратегий анализа, оценку их методологических возможностей и ограничений, а также роли сравнительной криминологии как инструмента научной интеграции и междис циплинарного взаимодействия. Сделан вывод о высокой значимости сравнительной крими нологии для последующего развития современной криминологической науки

The article examines the formation and further development of comparative crim inology as an independent field of scientific inquiry, which evolved within the criminological tradition over a period of more than a century. It is emphasized that the emergence of comparative criminolo gywasaccompanied by complex academic debates related to the transformation of epistemological approaches, the shift of theoretical orientations, and the correlation between etiological, clinical, and sociological directions in criminological research. A synthesis of international experience makes itpossible to identify both the historical prerequisites for the rise of the comparative approach and itssignificance for the analysis of crime and social reaction in societies belonging to different socio-cultural and political systems. Special attention is paid to the methodological foundations of comparative studies, including the distinction between macroand micro-criminological strategies of analysis, the assessment of their methodological potential and limitations, aswell as the role of comparative crim
