В статье представлен комплексный анализ учебника Рэймонда Мёрфи «English Grammar in Use» — одного из наиболее влиятельных и проверенных временем изда ний в истории преподавания английского языка как иностранного. Рассматривается исто риясоздания учебника, его структурно-содержательные особенности, методические прин ципы, лежащие в основе концепции, а также эволюция издания на протяжении четырёх десятилетий и отношение к нему современных студентов. Особое внимание уделяется анализу уникальной дидактической модели «одна грамматическая структура — один разво рот», определившей мировой повсеместный успех издания. На основе современных иссле дований исследуются лингводидактические и дискурсивные характеристики учебника, его адаптация к цифровой образовательной среде и место в системе средств обучения английскому языку. В статье также анализируется восприятие учебника преподавателями и учащимися и перспективы его развития в условиях цифровой трансформации образования

The article presents a comprehensive analysis of Raymond Murphy’s textbook “English Grammar in Use”, one of the most influential and time-tested publications in the history of teaching English as a foreign language. The article examines the history of the textbook’s creation, itsstructural and substantive features, the methodological principles underlying the concept, aswell as the evolution of the publication over four decades and the attitude of modern students towards it. Special attention is paid to the analysis of the unique didactic model “onegrammatical structure — onebook spread”, which determined the worldwide widespread success of the publication. Based on modern research, the linguodidactic and discursive characteristics of the textbook, itsadaptation to the digital educational environment and itsplace in the system of English language teaching tools are investigated. The article also analyzes the perception of the textbook by teachers and students and the prospects for itsdevelopment in the context of the digital transformation of education
